Nobody doubts that music is one of the most popular and appreciated Arts, but very few musical instruments reached the category of “piece of Art”. This is the case of the famous violins made by Antonio Stradivari, considered as the finest instruments ever created, and by far the most appreciated by the Art market. We will have another evidence of this next April 2 nd , when Christie’s New York will auction a 1729 Stradivari violin known as the “Solomon, Ex-Lambert”
The violin carries an estimate of $1,000,000-1,500,000, a price that can be easily surpassed: Christie’s holds the world record price for any musical instrument sold at auction with the sale of “The Hammer” Stradivari which sold for $3,544,000 last May
