The pyramidal hill of Visoko, in times of the Turkish rule
A pyramid in Bosnia?
The normally quiet archaeology World is currently shocked with the announcement by an important Bosnian newspaper of the alleged discovery of a colossal pyramid, similar or even larger than the three Pyramids of Giza, in the town of Visoko, some miles north of Sarajevo, in Bosnia.
As the Dnevni Avaz newspaper announced, the excavations made in the hill of Visocica, a small pyramid-shaped mountain, with its four sides oriented to the cardinal points, have “confirmed” the existence of the colossal pyramid, built with huge stone blocks, which would contain large halls and corridors inside it.
A sensational find or simply another rumor to add to the long and picturesque list of archaeological fakes and calumnies in recent times? Remember the “Persian mummy” or the “prehuman maps” from the Urals -someday I’ll write something about this, as a comedy is incomparable- and let’s take with scepticism this story, at least until the future analyses in the pyramidal hill could authenticate this exciting find.
