‘Marcel Duchamp’
One of the most prominent and controversial artists of the past century, Marcel Duchamp (1887-1968) is specially famous for his work ‘Fountain’, which was selected as the most influential work of art of the 1900s. Moderna Museet has one of the world’s finest collections of his art, and fourteen of his works, including ‘Fountain’, ‘3 Standard Stoppages’, ‘The Bride Stripped Bare By Her Bachelors’, ‘even (The Large Glass)’ and ‘The Bicycle Wheel’, are displayed in the exhibition.

‘Early Modernism’
The exhibitions focuses on one of the most fascinating periods of the history of art. As the Moderna Museet points in the press note of the exhibition, “in the latter half of the 19th century, the rules and norms governing visual arts were dissolved and replaced by a wide array of artistic possibilities, where small constellations of artists fought for new, revolutionary ideas”. The exhibition features works by Pablo Picasso, Wassily Kandinsky, Henri Matisse and Edvard Munch, among others.
