Sol LeWitt, American artist considered as one of the most important names of the Conceptual and Minimalist Art along with artists such as Donald Judd, Richard Serra or Brice Marden, died last April 8th at age 78.

LeWitt worked with multiple mediums including structures (he disliked the term “sculpture”), drawings and paintings, some of them over large walls. In the last 30 years he was the subject of many exhibitions in America ‘s greatest museums. His last exhibition was organized by the San Francisco Museum of Art in 2000.

Sol LeWitt collaborated in the “Sixteen Americans” exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in 1960, which featured artists such as Jasper Johns or Frank Stella.
