September 27, 2008 – The painting represents a seated nude woman in a unclear landscape. Though the date of the work has not been confirmed, it belongs to the later years of the artist, and shows the warm sensuality of Renoir’s later style. An Art expert has estimated the painting to be worth around $750,000.

The painting was stolen in Milan in 1975, and was recovered in a town in Northern Italy. According to the Italian Police, three people were arrested in the operation. The painting will be returned to the heirs of its original owner
