January 7th 2008 – Most of France’s national museums will offer free admission until June 30th 2008, as part of an attempt from French government to open up culture to the people. Other museums will also offer free admission, but only for those under 26. UK is offering free admission to its national museums since 2001

Some of the museums to offer free admission are:

LouvreThe Louvre arguably the world’s most famous Museum. Its collections include fabulous antiquities and the Gioconda

OrsayThe Museé d’Orsay in Paris isthe best museum of impressionist and 19th century French painting in the world

PompidouThe Centre Georges Pompidou is France’s national museum for modern and contemporary Art, housed in a contemporary building by Rogers and Piano
