Cory Arcangel is a digital artist who works with a wide range of media, including performance, kinetic sculptures and music. However, his most famous works are his video game ROM hacks, including “Super Mario Clouds v2k3”.

Now, Whitney Museum of American Art presents the first major New York museum exhibition devoted to Arcangel, entitled “Pro Tools”. Although none of the works exhibited makes use of the software with the same name, the title “reflects Arcangel’s practice ofrecording, composing, and remixing”, according to the press note released by the Whitney Museum.

“At the core of his projects -exhibition curator Christiane Paul notes- lies an interest in ‘the human factor’—the ways we express ourselves through technological tools and platforms, from Photoshop to YouTube.”
